2011

2011 has been great! I have been very busy doing floral arrangements that range from the very elegant all white to the brightest red and purple combo I have ever worked with. The purple lisianthus and red rose bo-k was born when the bride asked for "happy flowers', she did not want anything that would just be a bride's bo-k she wanted something that was tasteful, elegant, and "happy" her only request was that red roses were in the bo-k so that they would match the vintage car they left the wedding in. This car was special because her groom picked her  up for thier first date in that car. You can see a picture of the bo-k in the photo gallery under Jan-June 2011.

I also had the honor of working with one of my venders Carla McLemore (Photographer). She had a dream, a vintage wedding on the grounds of Madelyn's in the Grove, in Athens, AL. The colors Carla chose were perfect, she requested  specific items and then left the finishing touched to Weddings By Jeannie. If you check out the links button you will see where her wedding has been published on Elizabeth Annes Designs blog. Carla and her mom planned the details and had help creating the burlap table toppers, and also had an Aunt to bring me a large garbage bag full of spanish moss directly from LA.

I also had so much fun working with peonies, I had not had the oppertunity to work with this wonderful flower before this wedding. I located and ordered them from a USA grower. The bride had fond memories of picking her grandmother's peonies and playing with them when she was young.

The one thing that has come to mind during these first six months of  2011 is that the history behind alot of my bride's choices are based on family ties and traditions. I have some additonal pics that I will add to the Jan-June 2011 photo gallery soon.

Have a great day and God bless.      Jeannie
